        有的動詞既可接不定式作賓語,也可接動名詞作賓語,且含義基本相同,這類動詞數量非常有限,在中學英語中主要有like(喜歡),love(喜歡),hate(憎恨),prefer(寧可),begin(開始),start(開始),continue(繼續),can’t bear(不能忍受),intend(打算),bother(麻煩),attempt(試圖),cease(停止)等。如:

I like being [to be] with her.

Children love playing [to play].

Our boss hates to be delayed [being delayed].

I prefer staying [to stay] indoors on cold winter evenings.

She began playing [to play] the guitar when she was six.

It has started to rain [raining].

They continued to meet [meeting] every day.

He can’t bear travelling [to travel] by sea.

He intends to buy [buying] a house.

Don’t bother to lock [locking] the door.

Don’t attempt doing [to do] it by yourself.

She never ceased complaining [to complain] about prices.

I’d like to go with them.

I’d love to have a word with you.

It is ceasing to rain.

He was beginning to recover when he had another attack.

We’re starting to get invited to some of the neighbours’ parties.

I soon began to understand what was happening.

I am beginning to realize why he acted as he did.
